Beef and Rice With Mushroom Red Wine Sauce

As many others take said, the sauce was a bit on the runny side and could have used a few spices. Since I made this simply for ii, I was able add together to it for leftovers—twice. Beginning leftovers, I simply added a little more broth, merely I also thickened and added garlic salt. The final repast was taco meat, chili pulverisation and cumin gave the tender meat good flavor.

The meat was very tender, but not very tasty. Even calculation salt and pepper didn't do much to improve it.

The roast was fork tender! I did cook it for six-1/2 Hours instead of 6 and added 3 cloves of garlic. With ii hours left, I added 1-i/2 lbs of yukon potatoes cut into 2" pieces, 1 C of carrot sticks, 1 medium onion, diced, and 1/2 lb of mushrooms. I omitted the bay leaf simply did add some thyme for the last hour.

Made this for dinner today and the sauce was superb. I used a merlot. My husband said it is definitely a keeper.

Ugh

Easy to brand but it was missing something in the flavor. I heated up some of the sauce with cornstarch/water to thicken it to more of a gravy since the sauce was thinner and then I expected.

To Sandy, Ranch dressing mix adds to any gravy or sauce. I got a chili recipe that a country singer shared - using two packs of taco sauce and ane of ranch dressing mix. OMG - information technology has been my best chili ever. I tin can't expect to try this beef recipe tomorrow. Yum

Good flavor, brought for a potluck... Seemed a little soupier than I predictable. Side by side time I will add together some flour or potatoes to thicken up the broth for more than of a beef with crimson wine sauce stew.

Excellent flavor and super easy

The whole family loves this dish, even my stepdaughter who is a very picky eater. Great rich flavor. Be sure to apply a skilful ruddy wine for this.

I enjoyed this dish a bunch and tried a different way of making it past substituting it with a dark beer, such every bit Guinness.

The beef was a huge hit with my guests. They were practically licking the crock pot clean! It was so like shooting fish in a barrel to pretty much just throw everything in the pot, and information technology fabricated the flat smell great all afternoon. I volition definitely make it again.

Not every bit good every bit I had hoped. It was easy to prepare, and had a expert flavor, only the meat was not very tender.

This was easy to prepare, and very tasty.

Needs more flavour. Might substitute the water in the gravy mix with less beef broth. Noodles and beef combo is expert though.

I used iii pounds of stew beef. About the same price per pound and saved the time of cutting upwardly the roast. Check the size on gravy mix bundle, I bought 2 .87 sized envelopes to equal the fifty.half dozen suggested in the recipe. No need to add additional spices, corking flavor as-is. Terrific busy day supper for family and friends. Will definitely keep this ane.

This was similar in gustation to Beefiness Stroganoff, but the wine definitely added depth to the flavour (and fewer calories without the sour cream!). I liked that I didn't have to brownish the meat beforehand...and information technology turned out tender and juicy.

This recipe is so easy and delicious. I only used 3/4 cup blood-red wine and the flavor was excellent. I served it over rice in pasta bowls and information technology was perfect. I agreed with the other reviews that the sauce was the tiniest flake thin, but then again, it's a "sauce" and not a "gravy". My husband asked that it be added to the regular rotation, and since it's so easy and yummy, I am happy to oblige!

Who in their right mind would put ranch dressing on beef and noodles? Yuk!!!

Nifty but probably will non go far again. For this type of recipe, "Beef Daube Provencal" from Cooking Light remains our favorite. This one requires less work, but we did non think the flavor was as skilful.
